Developing the Yin Field ~ Qigong with Cindy Engel @ Wellbeing Centre
Sep 9 @ 9:30 am – 4:30 pm

Qigong Workshop with Cindy Engel

This workshop focuses on mind-body connection within the Lotus Neigong International syllabus, using the Yin field of the hands to influence internal tissues (soft tissue). This stage of connection is an important landmark in Qigong and so it is worth spending a day working on the precise mechanisms of its development.

This is a practice suitable for intermediate Qigong practitioners and beyond, however if you have a skill in Mindfulness you are welcome to join. The day will involve standing, sitting and lying down, with regular breaks. Short lectures and hand-outs will be provided. Although Cindy has a serious approach to the depth of this work, she always makes humour an important part of the day.

Cindy Engel

Cindy Engel offers health support via Qigong, Neigong, Tai Chi, and hands-on therapeutic bodywork. She has been a professional bodyworker for over 18 years. Her Qigong instruction is accredited by: the College of Elemental Chi Kung (London); Dragon & Tiger Qigong of Energy Arts International (Bruce Frantzis); Taoist Internal Alchemy (trained in Wudang, China, with teacher Hu Xuezhi, author of ‘Revealing the Tao Te Ching’). She is an instructor and continuing student with Lotus Neigong (Damo Mitchell). She is a graduate and post-graduate of the Shiatsu College (Norwich) and is a certified instructor of Fascial Fitness (Robert Schleip).

Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) Workshops @ The Yoga Tree

Times: 10.30 – 12.30 OR  1.30 – 3.30pm / Individual personal sessions also available

Open to all

This experiential workshop is designed to introduce you to the practice of TRE and teach the essential skill of self-regulation in preparation for taking up TRE at home on your own. You will be taken through the main principles of how TRE works and guided in how to use it safely as a valuable and effective self-help tool.

TRE is a mindful body practice which dynamically releases stress, tension and trauma stored in our bodies from both recent and more historic life experiences. By using a set of simple exercises we can trigger therapeutic tremors in the body, ‘recalibrating’ our central nervous system and interrupting the release of stress hormones. TRE restores a sense of calm, re-balances vital body systems and builds resilience physically and psychologically.

Pre-booking required. For more information please contact  07795 194021 or to book email Marisa

One on one consultation sessions also available in the mornings of the workshops.

Extraordinary Vessels, Menstruation, Conception and Pregnancy - Suzanne Yates @ Gong Bodywork

Open to Shiatsu Practitioners

TO BOOK please email jane.shiatsu@gmail.com for a booking form or to ask questions.

Learn the importance of the Extraordinary Vessels for female clients: understand the changes in the menstrual cycle and key changes in pregnancy.

You may or may not be working with women trying to conceive and pregnant women, but you feel that you would like a deeper understanding of how to support women and their families during this potentially challenging yet exciting time. You may even be afraid or unsure of how to work with certain aspects of pregnancy. The most effective way to support conception,  pregnancy, and indeed the whole maternity period is to include work with the Core Four Extraordinary Vessels, not simply Conception and Governing Vessel. This course will help you understand more fully the powerful Extraordinary Vessels.

You will:

  • Understand why the key Extraordinary Vessels of Penetrating Vessel (Sea of Blood) and Girdle Vessel are so fundamental to menstruation, conception and pregnancy
  • Learn key changes during the menstrual cycle and pregnancy
  • Learn positioning issues for pregnancy
  • Understand more about your own connection to the menstrual cycle and pregnancy
  • Learn how to work sensitively and effectively with low risk women in the second and third trimester
