Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) – 3 Part Workshop Series @ The Wellbeing Centre
Jan 20 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) - 3 Part Workshop Series @ The Wellbeing Centre

Date: Jan 20 / Feb 17 / Mar 17

Time: 1.00 – 3.00pm / OR 4 – 6pm

Open to all

This course of three experiential workshops is designed to introduce you to the practice of TRE and teach the essential skill of self-regulation in preparation for taking up TRE at home on your own. You will be taken through the main principles of how TRE works and guided in how to use it safely as a valuable and effective self-help tool.

TRE is a mindful body practice which dynamically releases stress, tension and trauma stored in our bodies from both recent and more historic life experiences. By using a set of simple exercises we can trigger therapeutic tremors in the body, ‘recalibrating’ our central nervous system and interrupting the release of stress hormones. TRE restores a sense of calm, re-balances vital body systems and builds resilience physically and psychologically.

Pre-booking required. For more information please contact  07795 194021 or to book email Marisa

One on one consultation sessions also available in the mornings of the workshops.

Standing Qigong: Theory and practice with Cindy Engel @ Wellbeing Centre
Jan 28 @ 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Standing Qigong: Theory and practice with Cindy Engel @ Wellbeing Centre

Qigong, as a generic practice, includes different styles of standing meditation. Why are they different? What are they for? What are they supposed to do? This session will look at the physical alignments, the applications of Ting and the effects we can expect from three different ‘types’ of standing practice. We will experience why different standing postures stimulate, activate and initiate different processes

Suitable for all as we will each control the length of time we stand in each practice session.

Please call 01603 632555 or email Dinah for further info or to book. Cindy Engel is a highly experienced Qigong Teacher, to find out more about her visit www.wildhealth.co.uk

I found Qigong or it found me, I’m not sure. However, it is the start of a wonderful(and at times annoying and sickening) journey. Cindy is the perfect guide along this path. She blends the East and West, the science and the esoteric perfectly. An added bonus is that she is just the right kind of bonkers. A brilliant teacher.” Ben Grief (Science teacher, 2015)

Venue: Norwich Wellbeing Centre
Teacher: Claire Stevens
Cost: £25 per workshop  / £140 for 6 weeks (£110 low waged / £90 unwaged)

A series of 6 Thursday evening workshops for pregnant mothers (and partners if desired) – to assist them in their pregnancy, to prepare them for birth and for the early stages of new motherhood

Focus will be on the mother, with suggestions given on supportive foods and herbs during this journey. There will be nurturing mini-massages, warm drinks and sharing experiences, along with talks from experienced birth and post-birth doulas.

We will listen to positive and inspiring birth stories and explore medication-free options for pain relief during birth. We will talk about and prepare ourselves for experiencing the strong emotions that can arise during pregnancy and in that sacred few months after giving birth.

We will discover simple recipes and sample nurturing dishes that support the mother’s energy system, both in pregnancy and in the time that follows the passage of birth. We will explore acupressure points that can assist during these key stages and give suggestions about baby weaning from a Chinese medicine perspective.

Feb 24 @ 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Treating Hands & Feet using Acupressure @ Wellbeing Centre, Norwich | Norwich | United Kingdom

The feet take so much weight and the hands do most of our work – here is a great way to thank them and to calm body and mind too!

* Learn a simple routine to treat the feet and hands with deep yet sensitive pressure
* Learn key Acupressure points for relaxation
* Learn how to treat others and yourself

Ideal if you want to come in pairs (partners, friends, parent and child) or for professionals, such as nurses and carers, wanting to learn simple energywork massage techniques

This workshop is a great addition for practising therapists, for sharing with a friend or partner, and for those just starting to look into simple treatment techniques. Notes will be provided but please bring paper and pen too. Fresh socks a preference (but I’ll bring some with me). Open to complete beginners.

Wu Daoyin: Guiding and leading the Qi – with Cindy Engel @ Wellbeing Centre

Wu Daoyin: Guiding and leading the Qi - with Cindy Engel @ Wellbeing Centre

Sometimes information in the body from past events continues to hold us back and needs to go. Sometimes physical damage to the body is holding back the smooth operation of our movements or our energy flow. Sometimes stagnation needs to be shifted with a bit of assertiveness and nothing else will do. The ‘Daoyins’ can be used to shift stagnation, clear, open and lengthen the body for improved function. This could be a sweaty, slightly challenging morning, which – after exhausting you – will leave you feeling lighter, brighter, and happier. Bring a towel!

Suitable for all as we will each control how much we do during each practice session

(Cindy Engel was granted permission to teach this material by Damo Mitchell, of Lotus Nei Gong International). Cindy Engel is a highly experienced Qigong Teacher, to find out more about her visit www.wildhealth.co.uk
